Guthrie Quist is a local business owner and Filmmaker. His debut film, "Bodyslammed: Folk Hero vs. Billionaire" a documentary about the Montana Congressional Special Election of 2017, premiered at the O'Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish after racking up wins for "Best First Time Director" at the Madrid International Film Festival as well as "Best Documentary"at the Mykonos International Film Festival in Greece, The Mannheim Arts and Film Festival in Germany, and the Nice International Film Festival in France during which he was invited and attended  the world renowned Cinema de Cannes. The film was recently acquired for worldwide distribution and will soon be streaming across the globe.

 

​Mr. Quist's Political experience began as a canvasser for the Obama campaign during which he proved adept at persuading undecided voters to support the future President and culminated in his being selected as a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

 

 He later worked as a paid Political Consultant and Campaign Aide on Congressional Campaigns across the Country including high profile races in Montana, Wyoming and New Hampshire.

 

His passion for community service led him to contribute as a fundraiser for the Montana Food Bank and the Warming Center. In 2020 he ran for Senate District 3 against a longtime incumbent and although he didn't prevail he was able to win nearly 1700 more votes than the previous cycle.  In 2018 he promoted a Ballot Initiative in Flathead County in partnership with Water for Flathead's Future that passed in a bipartisan landslide with nearly 70% of the vote.

His wife Summer is the 2nd Vice President of the Flathead Democratic Women. Together they run Quist Montana Properties, a Real Estate and Property Management business.
